Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (8 November 1901 – 19 March 1965) was a Romanian communist politician and electrician. He was the first Communist leader of Romania from 1947 to 1965, serving as first secretary of the Romanian Communist Party (ultimately “Romanian Workers’ Party”, PMR) from 1944 to 1954 and from 1955 to 1965, and as the first Communist Prime Minister of Romania from 1952 to 1955.
Nicolae Ceaușescu (5 February [O.S. 23 January] 1918 – 25 December 1989) was a Romanian communist politician and dictator. He was the general secretary of the Romanian Communist Party from 1965 to 1989, and the second and last Communist leader of Romania. He was also the country’s head of state from 1967, serving as President of the State Council and from 1974 concurrently as President of the Republic, until his overthrow and execution in the Romanian Revolution in December 1989, part of a series of anti-Communist and anti-Soviet uprisings in Eastern Europe that year.

Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (numele la naștere Gheorghe Gheorghiu, n. 8 noiembrie 1901, Bârlad, Tutova, România – d. 19 martie 1965, București, România; pronunțat în română a fost liderul comunist al României din 1947 până la moartea sa și președinte al Consiliului de Stat al Republicii Populare Române în perioada 21 martie 1961 – 19 martie 1965.
Nicolae Ceaușescu (n. 26 ianuarie 1918, Scornicești, Olt, România – d. 25 decembrie 1989, Târgoviște, Dâmbovița, România) a fost un dictator român, secretar general al Partidului Comunist Român, șeful de stat al Republicii Socialiste România din 1967 până la căderea regimului comunist, survenită în 22 decembrie 1989.
