Alexandru Rusu (b. 22 November 1884, Șăulia, Turda-Arieș County – d. 9 May 1963, Gherla Prison) was the first bishop of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Maramureș since 1930, elected Metropolitan of the Romanian Church United with Rome in 1946, but unrecognized by the pro-Soviet authorities in Bucharest, one of the leaders of the Greek Catholic resistance in Transylvania during the communist persecution. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2019. He is celebrated in the Catholic Church on June 2.

Alexandru Rusu (n. 22 noiembrie 1884, Șăulia, comitatul Turda-Arieș – d. 9 mai 1963, închisoarea din Gherla) a fost din 1930 primul episcop al Eparhiei Greco-Catolice a Maramureșului, ales în 1946 mitropolit al Bisericii Române Unite cu Roma, dar nerecunoscut de autoritățile pro-sovietice de la București, unul din liderii rezistenței greco-catolice din Transilvania în timpul prigoanei comuniste. A fost beatificat de papa Francisc în anul 2019. Este sărbătorit în Biserica Catolică în data 2 iunie.
